Embark on your journey! Enjoy home-pickup (within the first 100 miles), or opt for pick-up at Southampton Central or Airport, with free parking included. We'll then proceed to Southampton's cruise terminal to board P&O's renowned Ventura cruise ship. Ventura is meticulously designed to encompass all the features and amenities of a classic cruise liner with an added touch of intimacy.
Upon boarding Ventura, the Limitless team will assist in transporting your bags to check-in, where the crew will promptly take them directly to your accessible cabin. Take advantage of Priority Boarding, ensuring you'll be exploring the ship in no time!
Included: Full board on the ship
After less than 24 hours on board today you have already reached your first destination. After your first breakfast the Limitless staff will be on hand to help everyone of the ship to start exploring.
The cruise ships usually dock at Quay de France, which is a 15minute walk to the city centre. Cherbourg is probably best known for two things: its seafaring heritage and its starring role in the 1960s film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Discover the former at the Cité de la Mer (City of the Sea) museum, where you can step inside a hulking nuclear submarine and marvel at 17 incredible aquariums, including one that’s more than 10m deep.
Today will be your first full day to enjoy the extensive facilities on board the Ventura. Start to familiarise yourself with your new home and look out for the Horizon paper. This will show you daily everything that is happening on board, times and locations. Activities include, quizzes, games, Karaoke live shows and so much more.
After another hearty breakfast today we visit Leixoes, an interesting destination in its own right, with a unique seafaring heritage, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to discover and a laid back feel.
However, if you would rather visit the cutting-edge architecture and winding alleyways of Porto, you can upgrade onto an escorted tour of the city. While the tour is organised and provided by P&O, our carers can join you and provide support and assistance along the way. For more information regarding how to arrange this please speak with our specialist cruise team on 0800 7117112.
Staying in Portugal today the ship will be making port in the vibrant Portuguese capital of Lisbon, a perennial favourite among Limitless traveler's. Ensure your camera is ready, as you'll have the opportunity to capture the charming, candy-colored scenery and savour delicious custard tarts.
Some of the most stunning views of the Portuguese capital unfold as your ship cruises along the Tagus River, passing iconic landmarks like the Belem Tower and the impressive Monument to the Discoveries, featuring a statue of Henry the Navigator. Upon arriving at the Lisbon cruise port, take note that although compact for a European capital, the city sprawls a bit. It's advisable to focus on specific districts—Baixa, Bairro Alto, and Alfama—each possessing its own distinctive charm. Baixa boasts bustling streets adorned with inviting shops, cafes, and restaurants, while Alfama presents the atmospheric old town characterised by medieval and Moorish-style buildings, wrought-iron balconies draped with trailing flowers, and a mix of quaint shops and bars. It's worth noting that the old town features cobblestone streets, which may not be suitable for everyone. However, with so much to explore in Lisbon, you'll likely find it hard to leave.
Today we visit our last destination; Vigo, Spain's bustling fishing hub, is situated on the rugged west coast of the Galicia province. Throughout history, this charming town and its resilient residents have faced numerous naval attacks, including a couple led by Sir Francis Drake. Galicia's largest city is a dynamic modern metropolis, harmonising one of the world's busiest fishing ports with an atmospheric old quarter. It boasts numerous beautiful beaches at its doorstep and a vibrant nightlife scene featuring tapas bars, restaurants, and clubs.
The local seafood, considered among the best in Spain, benefits from the area's unique microclimate. Pulpo (octopus) holds the title of the local favourite, often enjoyed with glasses of Galician Albariño. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Ruá de Pescaderia (Fish Street) is a must, where Vigo's renowned women oyster sellers showcase their offerings.
As the ship slowly starts heading back North today you can enjoy at your leisure the rest of the facilities the Ventura has to offer. How about heading to the Spa to enjoy a relaxing massage? Or did you know theres also a hairdressers on board! Alternatively why not head to The Metropolis. This unique venue brings you all the excitement of the world's coolest destinations. An innovative 20 metre floor-to-ceiling video wall displays dramatic cityscapes, so you might gaze 'out' upon Paris, New York or Sydney as you sip your favourite apéritif.
After your last breakfast, we’ll help you check-out. Your bags will be taken down by the Ventura's crew and our care team will be on-hand to assist you. From here you will join the transfers back to the pick-up points, relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for your next Limitless adventure. We can’t wait to see you again!
