Your cruise begins! Whether you’ve made use of the complimentary parking or an accessible Limitless transfer, our team will meet you at the cruise terminal to help you board. We’ll unload your luggage, help you check in and support you through the terminal, ensuring everything is taken care of from the moment you arrive. By the time you reach your accessible cabin, your luggage will be on its way to you and you’ll be introduced to your cabin steward. The Limitless Team can help you unpack, settle in and make a cup of tea, so you're ready to enjoy the Iona's departure from Southampton.

Once you have settled in, we’ll help you begin exploring the ship and introduce you to your fellow travellers. Many of our guests find being a part of this tight-knit, supportive group one of the highlights of the holiday, and head home having made lifelong friends who return to cruise together year after year. In the evening, we’ll come together for our first group dinner and enjoy the opening night aboard Iona.

Day 2 At Sea

Your first day at sea gives you time to settle into life aboard Iona and discover everything the ship has to offer.

The Limitless Team will organise opportunities for the group to spend time together throughout the day. You might share breakfast overlooking the ocean, meet for coffee, test your quizzing skills, watch a performance or explore a new part of the ship together.

How involved you are is entirely up to you. You can spend the whole day with the group, dip in and out of activities, join everyone for breakfast or dinner, or enjoy the ship completely independently.

Whatever you choose, your Tour Manager and care team will be nearby whenever you need assistance, company or help making arrangements. Iona may be big, but travelling with a friendly Limitless Group makes the experience feel reassuringly personal.

Day 3 At Sea

Accessible Swimming and Relaxation at Sea

With a second full day at sea, you’ll have plenty of time to relax and discover more of Iona’s facilities. On one of our sea days, we’ll organise for the group to enjoy the ship’s accessible swimming pools together. Selected pools aboard Iona have pool hoists, enabling travellers who cannot use the steps to transfer into the water.

If you require assistance, the Limitless Team will be there to help with the pool hoist, getting changed and accessing the facilities. Our Personalised Holiday Support Team can also provide practical assistance with swimming where required, helping more travellers enjoy time in the water.

You can join the group for the full experience, stop by for a short swim or choose to spend the day elsewhere aboard the ship. Iona also boasts whirlpool spas, treatment rooms, comfortable lounges and plenty of peaceful places to relax with an ocean view.

As Iona carries you towards your next destination, today is a chance to experience more of the ship’s world-class entertainment.

The SkyDome hosts live performances beneath its impressive glass roof, while the Headliners Theatre presents full-scale shows and productions. Across the ship, and throughout the day and evening, you’ll find live music, comedy, films, quizzes, game shows and countless other onboard activities to enjoy.

Your Tour Manager will help you explore the entertainment programme, make bookings and organise opportunities for the group to enjoy shows and events together. You can join in as much or as little as you like, with the freedom to spend the day entirely at your own pace.

Day 5 Funchal, Madeira

Few port stops offer such a beautiful approach from the water, so find a comfortable viewing spot as you sail into Funchal. Madeira’s capital is nestled between spectacular hillsides and the Atlantic Ocean, and is known for its subtropical gardens, historic streets and dramatic setting.

Today’s private group excursion includes a journey aboard the Funchal Cable Car. As you travel towards Monte, you’ll enjoy panoramic views across the city, harbour and breathtaking coastline. After returning to the city, you will have time to enjoy lunch, explore the local shops or visit the colourful Mercado dos Lavradores, Funchal’s famous farmers’ market.

The Limitless Team will accompany the group and provide support throughout the experience.

Day 6 Santa Cruz, Tenerife

Welcome to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands and home to the spectacular Mount Teide volcano and its dramatic lunar landscapes. We’ll dock in Santa Cruz, the island’s capital, where palm-lined streets, attractive architecture and warm year-round weather make it one of our guests’ favourite destinations.

Your Tour Manager will lead an optional accessible experience through the city’s relaxed plazas and historic landmarks. The route passes the Museum of Nature and Archaeology, where travellers can discover more about the island’s geological origins, natural history and indigenous Guanche inhabitants.

Alternatively, you can explore independently and visit the botanical gardens or spend time at Playa de las Teresitas, an accessible beach with golden sands and calm waters.

Day 7 At Sea - Christmas Day

Christmas Day aboard the Iona is a wonderful experience, and a great way to spend one of the highlights of the calendar. While the festive decorations will have been evident for much of your holiday, things really come to life on the day itself, and the atmosphere makes for a truly memorable Christmas.

On board, there are themed activities, classic Christmas films in the cinema or your cabin, and classic pantos to get you in the spirit. As well as special festive entertainment, you’ll enjoy unique Christmas menus and plenty of holiday revelry.

It’s a great opportunity to dress up and enjoy the glitz and glamour of cruising, and the Limitless Team will be on hand to ensure you receive the support you need to make the most of it. Docking close to Puerto del Rosario, the island’s capital, you have the option to explore the local area or head to Playa Chica, also known as Los Pozos, a popular beach near the cruise terminal.

The beach offers accessible facilities and calm waters, with several cafés, bars and restaurants nearby. Many Limitless Travellers choose to make the most of the opportunity by enjoying a relaxed day beside the sea. Whether you want to visit the beach, explore Puerto del Rosario or spend the day aboard the ship, your Tour Manager is always available to help you plan a day that suits you.

Today we arrive in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria’s lively capital, known for its welcoming plazas, palm-lined streets and attractive Atlantic coastline. We dock at the Santa Catalina cruise terminal, providing convenient access to the surrounding cafés, bars and Muelle shopping centre.

The group will also have the opportunity to discover Vegueta, the city’s historic quarter, where highlights include the impressive Catedral de Santa Ana and inviting squares where you can stop for something to eat. Alternatively, you could head to Playa de las Canteras, an accessible city beach with disabled toilets and beach wheelchairs, subject to local availability.

You can explore with your fellow travellers or enjoy the destination independently, and the Limitless Team will support you in arranging your day.

Day 10 Arrecife, Lanzarote

Lanzarote’s otherworldly volcanic landscapes have enchanted visitors for centuries. Famed for its dramatic rock formations, black-sand beaches and palm-lined promenades, the island is also home to Arrecife, a relaxed capital with a welcoming atmosphere.

On leaving the ship, your Tour Manager will lead an optional accessible experience through the city centre. You’ll explore the waterfront promenade, pass El Charco de San Ginés, Arrecife’s picturesque lagoon and fishing harbour, and see the city’s main church, Iglesia de San Ginés.

Along the way, you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy local tapas, admire the island’s distinctive architecture and browse the shops.

A well-earned day at sea is a chance to rest, relax and sample the best of the ship’s onboard cuisine.

Iona offers an impressive choice of restaurants, cafés and bars, ranging from relaxed dining to premium speciality experiences. You could enjoy a leisurely breakfast, meet your fellow travellers for coffee or try somewhere new for lunch. Many dining venues are included within your full-board holiday, while selected speciality restaurants and entertainment-led dining experiences are available at an additional cost.

The group will come together for dinner, so you can share stories from the destinations you have visited and look forward to the days ahead.

Cádiz is one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited settlements and an intriguing blend of Hispanic and Arabic influences. While the locals are known for their wit, humour and relaxed approach to life, the streets are famed for their blissful, sun-swept beauty.

On arrival, your Limitless Tour Manager will lead an optional guided walk through the heart of the city, taking in the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, the ruins of the Roman Theatre, the city’s architecturally astounding 18th-century cathedral and the seafront promenade.

Afterwards, you can explore the city at your own pace. The excellent botanical gardens are a verdant, shady spot to enjoy a peaceful few hours, while the local cafes offer a wonderful vantage point from which to watch the world go by.

NYE Celebrations & Private Limitless City Tour

With its iconic yellow trams, colourful streets, historic squares and bustling cafés, Lisbon is one of Europe’s most atmospheric cities.

Today’s Limitless-exclusive excursion follows an accessible route from the port towards Praça do Comércio, Portugal’s magnificent waterfront square. Along the way, you’ll experience Lisbon’s history, architecture and distinctive character alongside your Tour Manager and fellow Limitless Travellers.

The experience also includes a private wine tasting accompanied by local fish cakes and Lisbon’s legendary pastéis de nata. Afterwards, you will have time to enjoy more of the surrounding area. You might browse the shops, stop for lunch, explore a nearby historical attraction or relax with a coffee and watch the world go by.

​At the end of the day, we’ll head back to the ship to get ready for the incredible NYE celebrations. We’ll get dressed up (if you want to), arrange to meet as a group and spend the night together. There will be shows, parties, music and plenty of music, so it’s up to you how we welcome in the New Year. We can’t wait to spend this special evening with you!

After last night’s sensational celebrations, today is all about starting the New Year as you mean to go on – surrounded by good people and enjoying life to the maximum! Whether you’re feeling a little delicate or in tip-top shape and ready to go, plenty is happening onboard the ship, and you’re bound to have an excellent day.

The ship’s casino is the place to try your New Year’s luck. Alternatively, you can sit back and enjoy a West End show, mesmerising magic act or live music performance at one of the many incredible venues. As always, the restaurants will serve up delicious fare, and the bars will be open, so you can toast to a fantastic first day of the year or speed up your recovery with a little hair of the dog.

Spending the day aboard the Iona is an incredibly special way to begin the New Year, and the Limitless Team will be by your side to make sure you have all the support you need to enjoy the ship’s world-class facilities.

A Coruña brings together Galician history, coastal scenery and a largely pedestrianised city centre filled with shops, cafés and restaurants. A little way down the coast, the famous Torre de Hércules lighthouse stands proud, welcoming the ship and Limitless Travellers into port.

Your Tour Manager will lead an optional accessible experience through the heart of the city. You’ll discover María Pita Square, the Church of Santiago and the lively Calle Real while learning more about A Coruña’s culture and history.

We’ll finish by stopping at one of the city’s cafés, where the Limitless Team will treat the group to delicious churros. Afterwards, you can continue exploring independently, enjoy some local food or return to the ship for a relaxing afternoon.

Your final day at sea is a chance to return to your favourite parts of Iona or to explore those you’re yet to discover.

Why not participate in an arts and crafts class, attend a talk, sign up for the interactive game show, browse the onboard shops or enjoy a thrilling theatrical performance? Alternatively, settle into the comfortable sofas in one of Iona's many lounges and enjoy the awe-inspiring ocean views.

Your Tour Manager will be available to help with activities and arrangements, while the Limitless Team will begin helping everyone prepare for the journey home. In the evening, we’ll come together for our final group dinner, share memories from the holiday and enjoy one last night aboard Iona.

Our accessible taxi transfers guarantee a stress-free start to your holiday. A door-to-door service, it ensures getting to and from the cruise terminal is easier than ever by using ramp-accessible vehicles with plenty of room for luggage and mobility equipment.

For journeys of 125 miles or less, this service is included in the price of your holiday. Additional fees may apply for longer transfers or those travelling from Yorkshire, North East England, or Wales.

FAQs

What’s included in a P&O accessible cabin?

Accessible cabins are available on request. However, they are limited and places sell out quickly. Accessible Outside, Balcony & Mini-Suite Cabins may also be available, though prices will vary. Every accessible cabin features:

  • Wide access doors

  • Space for mobility scooters to be stored

  • Wet room bathrooms with wide door access and grip handles

  • Air conditioning

  • TV, fridge and hairdryer

  • Tea and coffee-making facilities

    An equipment hire service is available and includes powered wheelchairs and hoists.

How does Limitless assist with check in and boarding?

Having met the Limitless Team at the port, we'll accompany you to the special assistance check-in. As it's separate from regular check-in, there are no crowds or lengthy queues.

You'll then be given a boarding time. Usually, we board as a group. However, if this isn't possible and you would like the assistance, we ensure a carer accompanies you onto the ship.

We board via the accessible gangway. This ramp connects the ship to the port. If you require support or assistance, both the Limitless Team and the ship's crew will be on hand to help. There are also manual wheelchairs available to make this transfer easier.

On some ships, the accessible gangway can be a little steep. In these instances, two crew members will provide support - one in front and one behind. You'll never be rushed and your safety and comfort are always the priorities.

Remember, you don't need to pre-book any special assistance at the port! We provide this assistance as standard with all Limitless cruises.

What is Limitless Group Support & Holiday Assistance?

Group Support & Holiday Assistance is included as standard with all Limitless holidays. It's what sets us apart from every other UK holiday provider!

This level of support is suitable for those who do not require physical support, but may need a helping hand to make the most of their holiday experience. We provide this assistance in a group setting, so you must be able to support yourself if you intend to leave the group at any point.

What can Limitless do if I require additional care and support?

At Limitless, we offer a range of additional care packages if your require a little more assistance. This allows us to tailor care to individual Limitless Travellers and ensure your needs are met while on holiday.

They range from our Morning, Evening & Occasional Daytime Care package for travellers who require intermittent assistance with personal care to our One-to-One Care With Hoisting package for travellers who would benefit from comprehensive, all-day care.

What are anchor ports and is Limitless responsible for port changes?

At Limitless Travel, we carefully select cruise itineraries with minimal anchor ports. Anchor ports are those destinations where port logistics mean a small boat or ‘tender’ transport is required to ferry guests to shore. In the vast majority of cases, these tenders are not accessible and some Limitless Travellers will not be able to leave the ship.

Unfortunately, port changes can happen due to any number of reasons while at sea. Limitless Travel cannot be held accountable for any such port changes.
