Holiday Overview

Indulge in the flavours of Spain with delicious tapas, explore the stunning landscapes of Lanzarote, set sail to Lisbon, and enjoy unforgettable days at sea aboard P&O's magnificent Ventura ship.

Explore five exotic ports on this cruise of a lifetime. The first port of Funchal is known as the city of gardens, including the fantastic Madeira Botanical Garden. The second port of Tenerife is famous for its black sand landscapes, and some of the best stargazing in Europe. Visit the picturesque Gran Canaria followed by the next port of the Lanzarote, famous for its volcano-clad landscapes, palm tree fringed beaches and clear blue waters.

Reasons to Visit The Canaries

  • Diverse Landscapes: The Canary Islands boast a range of natural wonders, from the serene beaches of Fuerteventura to the striking volcanic formations of Lanzarote. Each island offers its own unique beauty, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
  • Year-Round Pleasant Climate: The islands are famous for their "eternal spring" climate, providing mild and enjoyable weather throughout the year. This makes them a perfect destination for Christmas cruises, offering a warm winter escape with plenty of sunshine.
  • Rich Cultural Heritage: Immerse yourself in the islands' rich history, where Spanish, African, and indigenous influences blend into a unique cultural tapestry. Explore the architectural marvels, vibrant festivals, and delicious cuisine that reflect this diverse heritage.
  • Astrotourism: The Canary Islands' clear skies and minimal light pollution make them one of the best spots in the world for stargazing, especially in areas like Teide National Park in Tenerife. It's an awe-inspiring experience that adds a magical touch to any visit, particularly enchanting during the festive season of Christmas cruises.

After your cruise around the Canary Islands, there is still time for more! Your final port to experience is Lisbon. The unique architecture, tram's running up the many winding streets, and incredible food including a type of custard-tart only found here!

You'll be cruising aboard P&O Ventura. This mid-sized ship had a multi-million pound face-lift in 2013, creating a luxurious cruise-liner with modern surroundings. The contemporary feel of the ship continues throughout its cabins, where burgundy and cream décor is accented by dark wood fixtures and finishing touches by British designer Nick Munro.
