After a few hours of smooth sailing, you’ll arrive in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, ready to begin your exploration.

Situated along the Nieuwe Waterweg, Rotterdam stands apart from other Dutch cities. As one of the world's busiest ports, this dynamic metropolis seamlessly blends cutting-edge modern architecture, rich industrial heritage, and a thriving cultural scene. While often overshadowed by its picturesque sibling, Amsterdam, Rotterdam offers a more relaxed and immersive experience, with fewer tourists and plenty of space to explore.

Your ship will dock early in the afternoon, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to disembark and start your adventure. With an overnight stay in port, you’ll have the flexibility to venture further afield, whether that means soaking in Rotterdam’s lively atmosphere or even taking a trip to nearby Amsterdam.

For those looking to explore independently and leave Rotterdam, we recommend booking additional excursions directly with P&O to ensure they meet your accessibility needs. While our team cannot guarantee a staff member will be available to accompany you, we’re happy to assist in advance where possible.

Wake up to another exciting day in Rotterdam, with a full day ahead to explore the city at your own pace—all with the support of the Limitless Travel tour team.

With so much to see and do, it can be hard to know where to start. A great first stop is the Kijk Kubus Museum, Rotterdam’s famous Cube Houses. While not fully accessible, these innovative, tilted structures are a must-see architectural wonder that truly showcase the city’s modern, forward-thinking design.

Next, head to Markthal, a bustling, indoor market hall filled with local delicacies and a vast selection of food stalls to suit every appetite. With its spectacular ceiling mural and vibrant atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to indulge in some Dutch treats.

For those interested in history and culture, a visit to St. Lawrence Church is highly recommended. Located in the heart of the city, this beautiful landmark is fully accessible and offers insight into Rotterdam’s past. Additionally, the city boasts a variety of museums dedicated to its maritime heritage and WWII history, providing fascinating perspectives on how Rotterdam rebuilt itself into the modern hub it is today.

Of course, this is just a glimpse of what the city has to offer—whether you’re a history buff, foodie, or architecture lover, Rotterdam truly has something for everyone.

For an additional bonus any sailing visiting Rotterdam in December will also be able to visit the Christmas market adding additional joy and festive cheer to the adventure.
