As we cruise effortlessly towards Norway, today is the perfect chance to get familiar with your surroundings and the incredible range of things to do. While such choice may be overwhelming at first, you'll quickly realise that the beauty of cruise holiday is that it can be anything you want it to be, and our team is here to support you at every stage. Enjoy the ocean views from your balcony, listen to live music in the many lounges, or perhaps try your hand at bingo. The possibilities are Limitless.
For our second day at sea we'll be crossing the North Sea. Now that you're settled in, today is the perfect chance to truly enjoy some luxury at sea. Why not head to the spa to indulge in some long overdue R&R. Or perhaps leave the chill outside and head for the glass-roofed accessible pool with a chair-hoist for easy access, which the Limitless Care team can help you operate. In evening, we'll tuck into the incredible dining options onboard to round off another day of pure relaxation, and look forward to the sights which will greet you tomorrow.
Our first port of call is the town of Andalsnes, to which holiday makers have been cruising to for over 100 years because of its stunning location, nestled where the towering Romsdal Alps meet the northern end of Romsdalfjord. Andalsnes is a charming and welcoming town adorned with quaint shops and bustling markets, while Romsdalsfjord stands as an awe-inspiring testament to the country's natural beauty. Here, the landscape unfolds like a masterpiece, showcasing deep blue fjords that wind gracefully through the rugged terrain. The emerald hills roll gently, harmonising with cascading waterfalls that paint the air with misty enchantment.
We depart from Romsdalsfjord in the early evening. As we sail on towards our next destination, why not visit the Curzon Theatre where you'll find there's multiple performances on selected nights, so you can plan your evening however you like. Catch a show before dinner or enjoy one after. On Aurora you'll enjoy entertainment such as cabaret performances, stand-up comedy, interactive game shows, quizzes, and talent shows.
Tromso is our next port of call. This city and surrounding mountains have become a cherished viewing point for the Northern Lights. With its charming collection of centuries-old wooden houses, and the magnificent Arctic Cathedral built in 1965, the city is an architectural collage of the old and new. You’re just 400km from the Arctic Circle in Tromsø, but there’s no need to get out your polar gear. Thanks to its position on the Gulf Stream, this lively city is relatively mild for its latitude. Such a fascinating town deserves time to explore, and so the ship will be docked here overnight.
The ship is scheduled to depart early morning, so make sure to be on deck to watch this spectacular port sail past. In the late afternoon we'll be arriving in Alta, home to the Cathedral of the Northern Lights, this is one of the spots you're most likely to catch a glimpse of the polar light show! Other sights include Hjemmeluft, rock carvings that were discovered just 60 years ago that are estimated to be made between 1800 - 6200 years ago.
Settle in for another day exploring the very best of Alta. Today is the perfect day to explore Alta. Alta homes the famous Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel, with guided tours available for a unique experience. Or why not immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Alta by visiting the Alta Museum. It houses fascinating exhibitions and displays about the rock art found in the area, dating back thousands of years. The museum provides insights into the lives and beliefs of ancient people who once inhabited the region. Accessible excursions are available at an additional cost with P&O or if you prefer to take it easy then you can explore Alta at a gentle pace with help from the Limitless Team.
Enjoy one more beautiful morning in Alta, waking up to the glacial sights outside of your cabin window. We'll be leaving the port early in the morning, so take your time to grab yourself a hearty breakfast as we set sail to our next port. Perhaps catch a film at the boutique cinema onboard, or take a dip in one of the ships many pools. The day is yours to seize!
With a full day at sea sailing towards Stavanger, it's the perfect opportunity to dive into the culinary delights onboard. Indulge in elegant main dining rooms, offering daily changing menus with international and classic dishes. For a more intimate experience, specialty restaurants present upscale cuisine, including steakhouse grills, seafood delights, and more.
The ship's buffet restaurant provides a relaxed setting, ideal for casual dining with an array of international cuisines, salads, and delectable desserts. 24-hour room service adds convenience, allowing you to savor meals in the comfort of their cabins.
Stavanger is our last port of call and a perfect introduction to the Norwegian coastline. This small city is a gateway to Norway's breathtakingly scenic fjordland and holds its own as the revered 'Cradle of the Vikings.' Embracing its lively history dating back to 872 when Viking King Harald Hårfagre founded the Kingdom of Norway in nearby Hafrsfjord, Stavanger exudes a vibrant spirit of its roots.
Moreover, as the gateway to Norway's stunning fjords, Stavanger not only offers cultural riches but also serves as a base for exploring the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds it. From museums and galleries to fjords and Viking history, Stavanger beckons travelers with an enriching and unforgettable experience that spans both past and present.
One last day of relaxation! After all that exploring and adventuring, enjoy a restful last day aboard, with a boutique cinema, casino and duty free, there's lots to do as wind down and reflect on a memorable holiday at sea. Final tip: check out the Retreat (surcharges may apply) which has an step-in hydro-therapy pool!
After your last breakfast, we’ll help you check-out. Your bags will be taken down by the Aurora's crew and our care team will be on-hand to assist you. From here you will join the transfers back to the pick-up points, relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for your next Limitless adventure. We can’t wait to see you again!
