Lincoln's Connection to Land, Sea and Air

With its towering medieval cathedral, imposing castle, independent boutiques and cosy tea rooms, Lincoln is a wonderfully pretty destination with plenty of fascinating history. Over five days, we’ll take a thematic approach to exploring the local area, dedicating a day each to Lincolnshire’s relationship to the land, sea and air.

The ideal choice for anyone with an interest in local, military and transport history, it will also appeal to those looking for an itinerary with a mix of museums and classic seaside fun. A host of new excursions means it’s well suited to anyone who enjoyed our Lovely Lincoln tour, too.

5-Day accessible itinerary

Following a pleasant journey to Lincoln and a comfortable evening at the hotel, your first full day on holiday focuses on Lincoln’s relationship with the land. The day begins with a visit to the excellent Museum of Lincolnshire, continues with a tour of Lincoln Castle, and ends with free time in the city.

Your second day of excursions is all about the sea, as we head to Skegness for a beachfront walk and trip to the aquarium. Finally, we reach for the skies with a fantastic day that includes a guided tour of Newark Air Museum and a visit to International Bomber Command.

We’ll meet you at one of our designated UK pick-up points, help you board our accessible coach and ensure you’re comfortable for the journey. All our coaches benefit from hydraulic lift or ramp access, and wheelchairs can be safely secured in place, so there’s no need to transfer to a standard seat. On arrival, the Limitless Team will help you check in. Then, you’ll have time to relax, unwind and explore your accessible room, before enjoying a delicious meal in the hotel restaurant. Day 2 Museum of Lincolnshire Life & Lincoln Castle
Lincoln Castle
Lincoln Castle

Today, we’ll be exploring Lincoln and its relationship to the land. We’ll visit several of its biggest attractions and enjoy some free time in the afternoon to discover the city at your own pace.

Our first stop is the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, which celebrates local culture from 1750 right up to the present day. Housed in a Victorian barracks, it features more than 250,000 objects, including an authentic First World War tank. The building is accessible throughout, with lift access to all floors and push-button doors.

Following our morning in the museum, we’ll make our way to Lincoln Castle. Erected nearly a millennium ago by William the Conqueror, the castle has also been used as a prison. The castle interior is not entirely accessible, so our tour will keep to the exterior, where the site’s imposing fortifications can be viewed easily by all.

Later in the afternoon, you will also have free time to explore Lincoln. Head to the cathedral, find a cosy coffee shop, or head back to the hotel to relax – it’s entirely up to you. The Limitless Team will be on hand to support you throughout the day, and your Tour Manager can provide information on where to go and what to see if you need help. In the evening, we’ll all meet for a fantastic dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 Skegness Aquarium & Pierside Fish & Chips
Skegness
Skegness

Today, we head to Skegness and the seaside. With its beautiful Blue Flag beach, traditional British seafront feel and classic holiday attractions, Skegness is one of the country’s most iconic coastal resorts.

Your day by the sea begins with an accessible coastal walk or visit to the aquarium, depending on your preferences. Featuring several distinct aquatic environments and home to sharks, big-belly seahorses, stingrays, lionfish, eels and clownfish, Skegness Aquarium takes you beneath the waves to a world of wonderful underwater wildlife.

Following our morning activity, we’ll enjoy fish and chips by the pier. This lunch is on Limitless and included in the price of your holiday, so enjoy! If time and the weather allow, we’ll visit the North Sea Observatory at Chapel Point on the way back to the hotel. Situated on a spectacular promontory, this unique building is home to exhibitions about the local area, an art space and an excellent café.

Day 4 Newark Air Museum & International Bomber Command Centre
Newark Air Museum, Lincolnshire
Newark Air Museum

On our final full day, we take to the skies with visits to Newark Air Museum & International Bomber Command Centre.

Just 30 minutes from the hotel, Newark Air Museum is home to more than 80 aircraft and tells the story of aviation. On our tour, our guide will lead us through some of the museum’s most iconic and influential aircraft, providing fascinating insights into why they are considered so important. Alongside the aircraft, Newark hosts a fascinating exhibition dedicated to the social history of aviation, featuring a diverse range of artefacts and ephemera from the local area.

Following our morning in the Air Museum, we’ll drive a short distance to International Bomber Command, where we’ll have lunch and learn about the pivotal role airmen and ground staff played in WWII. Dedicated to recognising and remembering the efforts and sacrifices of all those who served in Bomber Command, it’s a moving tribute to those who lost their lives.

On returning to the hotel, you’ll have a little free time to relax and unwind before we all get together for our final dinner of the holiday.

Day 5 Breakfast & Travel Home
Coach tours

Today, your Lincolnshire tour comes to an end. After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll board the accessible coach and depart for our various UK drop-off locations. Relax, reminisce with your fellow Limitless Travellers and take in the views. We’ll ensure you’re comfortable for the return journey and look forward to seeing you on your next Limitless holiday!

General FAQs

How do I book a UK coach holiday?

The first step in the booking process is speaking to a Limitless Travel Advisor on 0800 711 7112. While many Limitless Travellers contact us knowing exactly which coach holiday they want to book, many also call us for advice. We often help our travellers pick out the perfect holiday based on their needs and interests. So don’t hesitate to get in touch, even if you’re not sure which holiday to book yet.

When you’re ready to book, you’ll pay a deposit to confirm your place. The remainder of the balance is payable closer to the departure date. Flexible payment plans are available, allowing you to spread the cost of your holiday.

You will also discuss your holiday and needs with your Personal Travel Advisor to ensure you have the best possible care package and everything has been considered. Finally, the Limitless Care Team will contact you three months before departure to confirm you have all you need, are happy with arrangements, and are ready for your Limitless holiday.

On arrival at your preferred pick-up location, keep an eye out for the Limitless Team. We’ll be wearing dark blue Limitless-branded tops and always make sure we’re easy to find. The team will help you store your luggage in the coach and assist with boarding.
