Day 5 - Botanical Gardens and Ice Cream

< >
On Day Five of your holiday, we’ll pay a visit to Montpellier’s beautiful botanical gardens. Considered the oldest botanical garden in the country, the origins of the Jardins des Plantes can be traced back to 1593. With more than 2,500 species of plant, many of which are well known for their healing properties, you’ll experience a brilliantly biodiverse tour of one of the city’s prettiest attractions. After the gardens, we’ll visit a nearby gelateria, where the Limitless Team will treat you to a traditional ice cream. Then it’s on to the Place de la Comédie, one of Montpellier’s most famous city squares, where live entertainment and the afternoon sun will make for a relaxed and enjoyable end to the day.

Today, we’ll be embracing the south of France’s passion for good wines by touring a traditional chateau and its 69-acre vineyard. Dating back to the 17th Century, the chateau is worth a visit alone, while its picturesque gardens are notable for their peaceful tranquillity. Of course, it wouldn’t be a wine tour without a trip to the cellar. You’ll have the chance to sample some of the Bordeaux region’s finest wines, hear a little about how they’re produced and maybe even pick up a bottle or two as a little reminder of your holiday.
