Holiday Overview

Regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful regions, home to delightfully delicious farmhouse cooking and the site of a cultural and artistic movement that changed the face of a continent, Tuscany is the perfect holiday destination. With the breathtakingly beautiful Florence at its heart, Tuscany's patchwork landscapes spread out across western Italy and encompass swaying wheat fields, cypress-lined country roads and expansive olive groves. For those who want a holiday that combines outstanding natural beauty, bustling city squares and the world's finest museums and galleries, there's no better place to visit.

On your accessible Tuscany holiday, we'll be staying amongst the elaborate facades, luxury boutiques and atmospheric medieval streets of the Tuscan capital - Florence. From there, we'll explore all the region has to offer. You'll visit the Uffizi and Accademia galleries to see masterpieces from the likes of Michelangelo and Botticelli and enjoy a day discovering the city's renaissance architecture and lively piazzas.

We've also organised several excursions to nearby towns and cities. A day trip to Pisa is the perfect opportunity to see the famous Leaning Tower, while a visit to nearby Siena ensures you experience one of Italy's true hidden gems. The smaller towns of San Gimignano and Lucca are also on the itinerary, allowing you to discover the quieter side of Tuscany. On your last day on holiday, we've arranged an authentic Tuscan cookery class, so you can recreate your favourite Italian specialities back at home.

Day 2 - Explore Florence

< >
On your first full day on holiday, we’ll get to know Florence by exploring some of its most famous sites. We’ll begin with a guided tour around the Uffizi Gallery - home to some of Michaelangelo, Da Vinci and Botticelli’s finest masterpieces. Afterwards, we’ll dine out at a local café and enjoy a wonderfully authentic Italian lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Galleria dell\'Accademia to see the world’s most famous statue - Michelangelo’s David. One of the great Renaissance artworks, the statue has come to symbolise the extraordinary cultural impact of Renaissance Italy’s master artists. Day 3 - Siena and the Middle Ages tour

< >
Today, we’ll be travelling back in time with a trip to Siena. Home to some of the world’s greatest gothic architecture, this atmospheric and unbelievably beautiful city is a must-visit on any Tuscan itinerary. While we’re there, we’ll visit the iconic Piazza del Campo, with its unique shell-shaped public square, proud clock tower and fantastic cafés. Afterwards, we’ll stop for a traditional Sienese lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll head to San Gimignano. A breathtakingly picturesque walled town that’s dominated by 14 imposing towers, this is Tuscany at its finest. There were originally 72 towers in the town, as local families built ever-taller constructions in an attempt to get one over on their neighbours and demonstrate their wealth and power. However, the 1348 plague wiped out much of the local population and San Gimignano became the calm and quiet rural outpost you see today.

Today, it’s all about exploring Florence at your own pace. Just because it’s a free day doesn’t mean that you’re on your own though. The Limitless Team will be there to support and assist you in any way.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to lovely Lucca, where the combination of cobbled streets, historic architecture and some of the region’s best cuisine make for a truly unique Italian experience.
