Today we visit our first destination, Vigo. This bustling fishing hub is situated on the rugged west coast of the Galicia province. Throughout history, this charming town and its resilient residents have faced numerous naval attacks, including a couple led by Sir Francis Drake. Galicia's largest city is a dynamic modern metropolis, harmonising one of the world's busiest fishing ports with an atmospheric old quarter. It boasts numerous beautiful beaches at its doorstep and a vibrant nightlife scene featuring tapas bars, restaurants, and clubs.

The local seafood, considered among the best in Spain, benefits from the area's unique microclimate. Pulpo (octopus) holds the title of the local favourite, often enjoyed with glasses of Galician Albariño. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Ruá de Pescaderia (Fish Street) is a must, where Vigo's renowned women oyster sellers showcase their offerings.
